When creating a media outcome you need to consider ethical issues

Make some ethical decisions:

For this role you are going to act as Peter Brooks, The Principal

As the Principal, your job will be to approve student content that goes on the Freyberg website.

I will give you some scenarios and you have to tell me whether you will allow it or not allow it. 

We will then compare it to what Mr Brooks states.

Scenario 1: Social Messaging Videos
Video A: Students in an anti smoking video use fake cigarettes' to depict some students smoking at the back of the gym.

A message pops up during this scene stating "Note: these are fake cigarettes, no students smoked for this film"

Video B: A student creates a short film about mental wellbeing. In this film two depressed students are vaping in vautier park.

Video C: Students do a walkthrough of the school, In the back ground you can faintly hear some kids swearing using the F-word.

Scenario 2: Funny Animations

Animation A: A student makes a funny animation, in it a students arm gets removed and there is lots of blood.

Animation B: An animation is made to encourage kids to recycle. At the end of animation a Cannabis leaf flies by in the background.

Scenario 3: School Photos
A photographer takes photos from around the school of students enjoying their lunch break.

Photo A: particular photo has a year 12 female student a singlet top and a midriff showing.

Photo B: A year 13 student has a t-shirt that has the slogan "My mum can SMASH anyone."

Photo C: A group of year 10 students are sitting and eating lunch, one student has a hoodie sticking out from his uniform.

Photo D: A male student falls over hilariously on athletics day, their shorts fall half way down revealing part of their underpants. The photo is taken at the right time. The male student approves of it going online.

It would be added as part of a collection of photos.

Scenario 4: Website Details

Website A:
The IT teacher uploads all the student leaders onto the school website, complete with their phone numbers and email addresses.

Website B: Mr Doe (A madeup school teacher) creates a page on the Freyberg website about environmentalism. On this page he very strongly advocates for the Green party and veganism.

Website C: The art teacher sets up a page with an art portfolio. Some of the drawings have partial nudity. The drawings are tasteful.
